Bria Goode joined Ibis as a Research Assistant in February 2021. She supports quantitative and qualitative projects focused on expanding abortion access, knowledge, and support in the medical and non-medical fields . These projects include increasing access to person-centered abortion services in India, understanding the scope of medication abortion in the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in the United States, and analyzing the pathways to quality abortion care in Indiana. Prior to her work at Ibis, Bria evaluated birth defects research as a Public Health Epidemiology Assistant and Data Analyst Consultant at The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Birth Defects and Infant Disorders. She also worked on a community-based research project as a Graduate Research Assistant at SisterLove, Inc., where she studied the perceived barriers and facilitators to medication abortion for Black and Latinx women in Georgia. Beyond her research experience, Bria has worked to increase sexual and reproductive health education in the community as a Program Consultant for Planned Parenthood in Washington, D.C. and as a Sexual Health Peer Educator at the University of Maryland. Bria holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science from the University of Maryland College Park.
