Sofía Braunstein manages qualitative and quantitative projects in collaboration with Red Compañera throughout Latin America and the MAMA Network throughout Africa. Before joining Ibis, Sofia was as a policy fellow for Fòs Feminista and led the COVID-19 vaccine portfolio at Surgo Ventures. She also consulted for federal agencies and nonprofits on strategy and evaluation at Deloitte and conducted fellowship-funded research on maternal health in rural Ecuador and migrant public health policy in Morocco. Outside of her research, she continues to serve as a case manager and activist with the DC Abortion Fund. Sofía holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University where she was a Sommer Scholar and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Affairs and Molecular Biology from Yale University.
