Sofía currently supports a variety of qualitative and quantitative projects focused on understanding and addressing abortion stigma and self-managed medication abortion in Latin America, India, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia. Sofía also assists with office management and administration for the Oakland office. Prior to joining Ibis, Sofía worked on efforts to implement and deliver inclusive sex education for youth in Tulsa, Oklahoma using a trauma-informed and intersectional framework. Sofía holds a Master of Public Health degree from Brown University, where she focused her studies on global health, sexual and reproductive health at behavioral and systematic levels, and community engagement and outreach. Sofía holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma State University in Psychology and Spanish. Sofía enjoys writing, surfing, and taking care of her plants.
