Sruthi (she/her) is Senior Associate Research Scientist at Ibis. Sruthi leads work on self-managed abortion in India including, understanding the journey of those who self-manage their abortion; piloting a hotline that would provide information and support to those self-managed abortion users; and improving quality of abortion care in India. She also serves as the Principal Investigator on several projects, including a research portfolio aimed at protecting and expanding access to abortion after the first trimester in the United States, and a mixed-method study documenting the medication abortion needs and preferences of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in the United States. Her past work encompasses a range of roles in a variety of low-resource settings in South Asia and East Africa, including designing and managing field-based qualitative and quantitative research, monitoring and evaluation, and policy and advocacy. Sruthi has worked at several global organizations including MSI Reproductive Choices, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Department for International Development (UKAid). She holds an MA in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) and an MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
