Chiara Bercu, MPA
Chiara manages both quantitative and qualitative research projects in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa. Her current work focuses on understanding the role of abortion stigma amongst providers and women, and developing improved metrics for quality of care of abortion services. Prior to joining Ibis, Chiara managed research in menstrual hygiene management and puberty, including working with Save the Children and Sesame Street Workshop to develop educational programs in El Salvador, Kyrgyzstan and Zimbabwe. Chiara also served as a Global Health Corps fellow at Action for Community Development, a human-rights based non-profit, in Uganda and lived in India while working for Mumbai Mobile Creches, an education non-profit. Chiara holds a Master of Public Administration in International Development from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and International Relations from Brandeis University.
